I have been thinking and planning and procrastinating starting off my blog for so long that I was tired of myself :) and then I came across Anna's spring cleaning event over at Ask Anna. I felt it was the perfect launching pad for me. So come along and share my trials and tastes as the days go on. So here's me, Nima, starting off with: Spring Cleaning Day 1--Washing Draperies.
The rooms were a disastrous mess, so while the curtains were in the laundry, I quickly cleaned it up so that come 'snap time' I had clean-enough rooms to take pictures of. Yes, I am vain enough that it bothered me that my first blog picture would be of a messy room... But be warned, my future posts will spare no mess! Ugh!!
Shortly after we bought our first home, I went on a war against all the metal blinds and took them all right off. After having lived with them in 5 rental apartments, I had had my fill of them! Luckily for me, the curtains I chose were not the uber-expensive ones and so they came out perfectly A-okay out of the dryer. I did not even have to iron them. Well, maybe the ones in the living room would be happier meeting the iron but it was late and I was tired and I let that pass. But I am sure, they will continue to haunt me and soon I will be rectifying that. So until then, here are the snaps of my successful Spring Cleaning Day 1.
1) Master Bedroom: Like I mentioned, it was late and I did not feel like getting J n J out of their beds for the snap. These curtains came off a sale at Home Depot - @ $4.00 a panel :)
2) Single Guest room: In future, this may become a kid's room, but for now, our single guests get it - doggie blanket n all :) I got these curtains in the As-Is section at Ikea - @ 10.00 for both panels.
3) Main Guest Room: I swear this room looks better than it photographs.I need to up my camera n my skills!! I got these curtains at a garage sale -@ $3.00 for both panels- enuf said!
4) Living Room: Not the best picture, but can you see the time - it was 11.00pm!! I just wanted to complete the challenge on time! These curtains are the only ones I bought at regular price :) at Target @$20.00 per panel!!
The hubs (A) was watching TV and he graciously got away for pic time.
